This past Monday, New Frontiers had a very special visitor come and pump our students up for the first round of TAKS tests. Number 2! himself, The Coyote, gave our students tips on how to prepare for the test. Along with the tips, the students had a load of fun that only the coyote can bring. One sudent even challenged the Coyote to a basketball skills contest.
Tips included:
- Studying - make sure homework is done
- Getting a good night rest.
- Be sure to eat a HEALTHY breakfast.
Parents you can help us with all three of these.

New Frontiers Charter School is an open enrollment charter Elementary and Middle School operated by a dedicated staff of individuals who care to make a difference in the education of your children. We currently serve kindergarten through 8th grade. We welcome you to peek into the New Frontiers Family.
Charter Schools are independent public schools, designed and operated by educators, parents, community leaders, and others. They are sponsored by designated local or state educational organizations who monitor their quality and integrity, but allow them to operate freed from the traditional bureaucratic and regulatory red tape that hog-ties public schools. Freed from such micro-management, charter schools design and deliver programs tailored to educational excellence and community needs. Because they are schools of choice, they are held to the highest level of accountability-parent's demands.

The Early Childhood Academy, a New Frontiers Charter campus, recently received a "Recognized" status under the regular accountability system. This honor was bestowed upon the district by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the 2007-2008 School year. This recognition is a first in New Frontiers Charter School history.
New Frontiers Charter School, employed numerous successful preparation strategies, including the analysis of benchmarks results to produce individualized interventions thus producing effective and efficient results. Through this strategy and the implementation of technology interventions, teachers, students and parents were able to effectively achieve our common goal - Success.
"We continue to strive for perfection and we have made it our goal for the 2008-2009 school year to achieve "Exemplary" status in our ECA campus"
Alfredo Segura Jr., Superintendent of New Frontiers Charter School.

Elementary
Summer is now over and we have been busy preparing for an exciting new year at New Frontiers Charter School. The teachers have been decorating their rooms and are gearing up to provide an excellent education for your children.
We have a few new team members this year. I would like to welcome Ms. Linda Copeland, Science Intervention, to our team. She is assisting our students and teachers with their scientific inquiries and provides intervention to our 5th graders. We will also have guest scientists, aka Mr. Sonic and Mr. Matter, visit and provide lessons to our students on various science topics throughout the year. We also have Mr. Marc Garza, who joins us from his prior experience in the Special Education team for the Middle School campus. He is serving as our new 4th grade general education teacher. Ms. Rivera, our former Science Intervention teacher, is now a 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher.
The new theme at our campus is BELIEVE. ACHIEVE. PERFORM. We will be encouraging students to set high expectations for themselves, backing up beliefs with their actions in everything they do.
As always, if you have any questions to your child's education, please feel free to contact me at 589-4033 or come by my room in 105a. Thank you for being an instrumental part of our success at New Frontiers.
