Spring has brought us a renewed sense of energy in the elementary school. We are anxiously awaiting our TAKS testing day taking place the last week of April so we can show off our skills. Speaking of showing off our skills, we were so happy to welcome a large crowd of parents and students to our “Are you smarter than a 5th grader?” Math Night. The students prevailed and proved that they know their stuff when it comes to Elementary Math! Our next academic night will be held on Tuesday, May 6th. Our students will present their Science Fair projects in the main hallway at 6pm that evening.
We have been working diligently with our 5th grade Science curriculum and I would like to welcome Ms. Susan Rivera to our team. She is assisting our students and teachers with their scientific inquiries and provides intervention to our 5th graders. We also have a guest scientist, aka Mr. Sonic, visit and provide lessons to our students on various science topics throughout the year.
As always, if you have any questions to your child’s education, please feel free to contact me at 889-6242 or come by my room in 105a. Thank you for being an instrumental part of our success at New Frontiers.
