Elementary

Summer is now over and we have been busy preparing for an exciting new year at New Frontiers Charter School. The teachers have been decorating their rooms and are gearing up to provide an excellent education for your children.

We have a few new team members this year. I would like to welcome Ms. Linda Copeland, Science Intervention, to our team. She is assisting our students and teachers with their scientific inquiries and provides intervention to our 5th graders. We will also have guest scientists, aka Mr. Sonic and Mr. Matter, visit and provide lessons to our students on various science topics throughout the year.  We also have Mr. Marc Garza, who joins us from his prior experience in the Special Education team for the Middle School campus. He is serving as our new 4th grade general education teacher. Ms. Rivera, our former Science Intervention teacher, is now a 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher.

The new theme at our campus is BELIEVE. ACHIEVE. PERFORM. We will be encouraging students to set high expectations for themselves, backing up beliefs with their actions in everything they do.

As always, if you have any questions to your child's education, please feel free to contact me at 589-4033 or come by my room in 105a. Thank you for being an instrumental part of our success at New Frontiers.

bus.jpgSpring has brought us a renewed sense of energy in the elementary school. We are anxiously awaiting our TAKS testing day taking place the last week of April so we can show off our skills. Speaking of showing off our skills, we were so happy to welcome a large crowd of parents and students to our “Are you smarter than a 5th grader?” Math Night. The students prevailed and proved that they know their stuff when it comes to Elementary Math! Our next academic night will be held on Tuesday, May 6th.  Our students will present their Science Fair projects in the main hallway at 6pm that evening.
We have been working diligently with our 5th grade Science curriculum and I would like to welcome Ms. Susan Rivera to our team. She is assisting our students and teachers with their scientific inquiries and provides intervention to our 5th graders. We also have a guest scientist, aka Mr. Sonic, visit and provide lessons to our students on various science topics throughout the year.
As always, if you have any questions to your child’s education, please feel free to contact me at 889-6242 or come by my room in 105a. Thank you for being an instrumental part of our success at New Frontiers.
