In Kindergarten, students engage in many activities that help them develop their oral language skills and help them begin to read and write. Kindergarten students take part in language activities that extend their vocabulary and conceptual knowledge. Students learn to follow directions and develop the language of schooling. Students discuss the meanings of words from familiar and conceptually challenging selections read aloud.

We have a couple of important dates to mark on your calendars.
-
April 18th- Parent /Teacher conferences, please sign up with your child's teacher for a time.
-
April 29th- Field Trip to Fiesta Farms. Please turn in permission slips and the $3 fee.
-
End of May (date to be announced)- Families please plan to attend this fun filled summer Reading Night.
-
June 4th- The end of Kindergarten will be celebrated with a slide show, short ceremony and refreshments.
Thank you parents and grandparents for being so involved in your child's education. Please continue listening to them read you decodable books, encourage and remind them to do their homework (got to get them ready for 1st grade) and of course thank you for bringing them to school everyday. We couldn't do it without your support.
