esl2.jpgThe English as a Second Language Program at New Frontiers Charter School works with all students identified as English Language Learners. The objective of the program is to insure that our ELLs acquire proficiency in the English language at the same time that they are receiving content-based instruction. We coordinate with all general education classroom teachers and are in constant dialogue regarding student well-being and academic performance. We recommend appropriate teaching strategies as well as facilitate small group instruction based on individual student needs and language proficiencies.

This is my 3rd year at NFCS teaching both 3rd grade and 4th grade.  However, this year, I am an ESL teacher.  I assist Ms. Trevino in Kindergarten, Ms. Palomino in 1st grade and Mrs. Hunter in 2nd grade.  I assist students in the classroom and with small group tutoring.  I integrate teacher's lessons so that it is mirrored and students can be successful.

In case you wanted to know about me personally, I am from San Antonio. I graduated from MacArthur High School, went on to San Antonio College, Our Lady of the Lake University, then Georgetown University in Washington D.C. where I earned my Master's Degree in Public Policy. I have worked in Maryland, Virginia, and in Washington. While I loved living in beautiful Virginia for 4 years, I missed San Antonio and all my family and friends. I have 3 adorable children ages 10, 7 and 2. My favorite sport is basketball. Go Spurs Go!!!!!!
