This will be my fourth year teaching I will be teaching first grade at New Frontiers Charter School. I look forward to a new and fun-filled year! I believe every child is a gift and each child is special and should be valued. All children deserve an education in a learning environment that is nurturing and exciting. I also believe the education of a child is in the hands of both the parent and the teacher. We should support one another to help our children reach their potential.

The 7th grade students have been doing a fantastic job in their ELA/Reading classes. Students already took their writing TAKS test and the scores should be in by May. They will soon be taking the reading TAKS test on April 30th . We are focusing on reading strategies and skills to reinforce their success. Continue to encourage your child and monitor his/her homework. Your support is greatly appreciated!
The seventh graders were fortunate enough to visit the Witte Museum and view the exhibit “Our Bodies – The Universe Within” on February 29th. It was fascinating to view the different human organs and structures and what they actually looked like inside a real person. This was a great opportunity to reinforce the lesson. Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers and our fantastic administration for helping to make the seventh grade Field Trip a reality!
In Math we are looking forward to using all the exciting new Math strategies learned in TAKS CAMP and in tutoring. Many 7th graders are looking forward to the final two months of exciting Math. Several students have truly made the connection between everyday Math and Math that can carry them into the future.
