There have been great changes made recently in the Middle School SPED department. As of early March, Mr. Garza and Mr. A. Flores have moved from the Elementary level to the Jr. High grades. This change is a new experience for Mr. Garza, having previously worked with elementary level kids, but is familiar territory for Mr. Flores. The new additions have joined Mr. Sarabia and are working together to assist in building a positive and motivating learning environment. The students that attend the lab on a regular basis as well as the students that are visited in the inclusion program have also adjusted well.

sped.jpgMr. Marcus Garza is a first year teacher with experience substituting in the SAISD. He has aspired to teach since his college days after watching and learning from a professor there. He graduated from UTSA with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art and minor in Geography. He has traveled abroad and to many major cities within the U.S.- experiencing the culture and unique qualities they each have to offer. He is a member of his neighborhood association, does graphic design work and organizes as well as exhibits paintings at art shows here in the city. He has so far had an interesting and motivating experience here at NFCS coming in late in the school year and hopes to focus even more in the following term with new challenges and a fresh start.
