We are quickly approaching the end of school which means TAKS is upon us. We have already had one round of Reading for 3rd, 5th, and 8th and on the 8th of April, 5th, and 8th took their 1st attempt in Math. TELPAS online has been completed too. Now we are preparing for the big week of April 28th – May 2nd where all grades are being tested in various areas. The schedule is noted below…
- Monday the 28th we will have LAT Math for 3, 4, 6 and 7th grades.
- Tuesday will be LAT Reading 3-8th, Math TAKS for 3, 4, 6 and 7th.
- Wednesday the 30th we are planning for TAKS reading for 4, 6,7th and Retest 2nd attempt Reading for 3, 5, and 8th.
- Thursday, May 1st is 5th and 8th grade Science
- Friday, May 2nd is 8th grade Social Studies
Please mark your calendars these are very important dates for your kiddos! Please make sure they attend each day, have a good night’s sleep, eat a good breakfast and relax! We want them to do their very best and use all of the strategies the teachers have been teaching them. We will have a small snack for them during the testing and a bottle of water. Our school policy is that they have until 5:00pm each testing day to complete their tests so they need to take their time. If your child is not finished by dismissal time they will call you to let you know as soon as they finish or you are welcomed to come and wait as long as they are not disturbed. Our scores from the 1st round of Reading for the 3, 5 and 8th graders were very good so I know the rest of the grades will do equally well.
Thank you for selecting our school as your school of choice. We are proud of our students and of their successes as they strive towards their goals in life. Our students are our top priority! Mrs. Mullen – Director of Special Programs, Curriculum& Instruction and Special Education, and District Testing Coordinator.
