My name is Grace Nava and this will be my sixth year teaching at New Frontiers Charter School. I have taught both fourth and fifth grades. I have lived on the southeast side of San Antonio all of my life and have attended nearby elementary, middle and high schools. I have degrees in both business administration and education. I have also attended St. Philip's, The University of Incarnate Word and Our Lady of the Lake University. I am married and have an twelve year-old daughter.
I am very excited to meet all our new 5th graders so we can learn about each other and begin what will be a fun and succesful year.
I am part of an awesome fifth grade team. I am very fortunate to be able to learn and share with experienced and innovative educators like Ms. McDonald and Ms. Rivera. We are constantly searching for stimulating learning experiences for our students.
Our focus in math is to learn and apply strategies that will help our students become independent thinkers and problem solvers. In social studies, we are learning about the expeditions and contributions of early explorers. In science, we are excited about our upcoming visits with Mr. Sonic, the scientist!
