Congratulations to our Lady Cougars who won the district championship on Friday, Feb. 8th.  For those of you who missed it, it was an awesome and nail-biting game.  The team's win was due to their stifling defense and Amanda Martinez who hit the game-winning shot with only ten seconds left on the clock.  Congratulations to our lady Cougars for an unforgettable season.  They are:  Amber Maldonado, Tiffany Barrera, Samantha Luera, Amanda Martinez, Brittany Gonzales, Devalin Garza Machado, Victoria Ledezma, Darleen Suniga, Imani Jones, and Savannah Elizondo.  A special shout-out goes to Brittany Gonzales who was named tournament MVP.

NFCS is starting a new tradition whereas outstanding students who exhibit good citizenship, leadership, and/or high academic standards will be recognized on a monthly basis as "Students of the Month." They will be awarded a certificate, Cougar button, and their pictures will be displayed on the bulletin board of the main building as well as the school's website. For the month of December, our students of the month were:   Robert Valdez, Daniel Gonzalez, Bastian Hix, David Ramirez, Briana Rizo, Willie Martinez, Jeniece Wheatley, Vanessa Velasquez, Elizabeth Villa, Marisa Flores, Christian Rodriguez, Lorann Brown, Mario Urius, Alysia Hernandez, Fantasia Gonzales, Sabrina Blakenship, Steven Sanchez, Sierra Ramos, Jasmine Hernandez, Miranda Maldonado, Jaqueline Kim Ibarra, Vicki Asebedo, Guadalupe Barrientos, Denise Herrera, Imani Jones, Vincent Reyes, Andres Hernadez.  Congratulations to everyone!

intervention.jpgNew Frontiers evaluates every child to determine if they are need of extra help in any given subject on an on going basis to evaluate the need for intervention. Once the need is discovered an action plan will be set in place assist each child to reach his or her objectives.
