First Grade

We would like to start by sending a reminder about this month’s Field Trip. On Monday, April 28th, we will be going to the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center to watch the American Theater Arts for Youth, Inc. perform Beauty and the Beast. We are still looking for chaperones for this Field Trip, if you would like to go please stop by and see your child’s teacher. Background checks will need to be completed by Friday, April 18th. look forward to hearing from all those who would like to participate. In the beginning of May, we will be taking the final TPRI test. We would like to stress the importance of this testing. To be considered for promotion your child must be reading at the ending 1st grade level or higher. We would like for you to take time during your day to read with your child and encourage your child to read to you as well. information will be available soon for 2008 First Grade Promotion Requirements. Lastly, during the last week of school 1st Grade will have its Annual Field Day. We play games and have a small snack. We look for parent volunteers to come in and help us make this a great success.
